See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Ohklos First Look

I like to think of Okhlos as historically accurate. That people in ancient Greece just went around meeting new friends and following them around to smash stuff, but I don’t know if that’s entirely accurate.

You start off as a simple man. A lonely man. Luckily there are friends everywhere. As you meet each new friend they join your ever growing group, becoming part of a large unruly mob. Each person still maintains their own attributes however. Warriors, philosophers, and puny peasants each have their own role in the mob.

There are also “Hero” character that each have their own abilities they add to the mob.

After you have a few friends with you what else is a mob supposed to do but start breaking stuff? There’s tons of objects in each level all begging to be smashed to bits by an angry roaming mob.

There’s also infidels that refuse to join your mob. Don’t worry the mob knows exactly what to do with them. Smash them to bits.

The gameplay is smooth and inviting at this early point in development. The movement is simple and direct and adding new people to the mob is as easy as bumping into them. You use a rally point controlled with the right stick to target your mob at things that annoy you. Your mob members will call out when they feel a surge of power coming on and hitting the right button will allow them to execute a powerful finishing move.

Every game feels new as you face new enemies and find new units to recruit. Building a larger and large mob that sorta remind me of a seething Katamari, in a good way. There’s only a small bit of the game that I got a chance to play and I was very impressed. I’ve played through it a few times already and think it’s coming along great. I can’t wait to see where they take it from here.
